Alured De Valer

After a lifetime of deliberating a name to call my fashion line I can finally announce the birth of Alured De Valer, in actual fact he was born many centuries ago and I shall get into that.

Fashion design is something I have always done since I was about 2 thanks to an amazingly talented dressmaker mother - it still amazes me how she can turn my designs into life exactly how I had envisioned them, yes her talent is sick. 

But up until now my creations have only been worn by me, though I am now in the process and actually launching my line, I’m excited as I feel (and everybody else I know has continuously told me) I was born for this, I literally live for fashion and cannot wait to dress everyone up all pretty!

Fashion Week

As Fashion week came to and end I finally found time to blog about it..The shows I went to where amazing, Zang Toi had some beautiful chiffon feminine dresses, not unlike the collection I had designed and am wearing this season.

As for Fashion night out, this years turn out was insane, quite literally.

After starting off at Sean John, we headed to Bergdorf, then caught the end of Brian McAdams performance at Calvin Klein before heading to Barneys, where I smiled for the lens - lost count how many times!

If that wasn't crazy enough, Soho was like Notting Hill Carnival meets Gay Pride Parade X10!

It was nuts. To my delight, I have never seen so many people dressed up, and if i had my way it would be mandatory to ‘dress up’ everyday! 

Sweat pants would be banned, men would dress prohibition era and woman would dress as beautifully as Marie Antoinette did. 

I know thats not going to happen but I do think its sad how sloppy people have gotten in our generation.

Living Life On The Edge

Whenever possible I go to my new favorite place in NYC.. the new pier in Williamsburg. 

Aside from the fact that it seems the only place I can escape my ADD, actually focus and be creative, The breeze, sound of the splashing waves along with Cafe del mar playing in my ipod takes me back to my fun and less responsible days if living in Ibiza... 

It also means I can look u at my dream condo in its full glory.. The Williamsburg edge!. I have been watching it grow from its foundation like its my own baby over the past 3 years and I just love it more everyday, ideally I want the $2mil penthouse but I will take any of the units there! check out there site and tell me you don't love it!.

Rekindled Love

Having been back from England a week now I’m back on my New York shit, my English fairytale bubble has finally deflated and I’m on serious work mode.
I did however have an adventure I’ll never forget, saw people I never thought I’d ever see again and walked in the foot steps of Henry and Anne that i had so much been fantasizing over.
My country really is a beautiful one with so much amazing history. Something, as a little girl i totally took for granted, I had never taken in quite how breathtaking the old Buildings, Cathedrals and Castles really are.
I fell in love with Hever Castle and decided that is where i shall get married (when and with whom is yet to be decided!) it was an amazing feeling walking through the house and gardens knowing the great Anne Boleyn had taken those same walks over 500 years ago.
Just when I didn't think I could see anything more magnificent I visit Hampton Court, Henry Viii’s Palace had me speechless...so this is where it all went down!..amazing.
Every House, Store and Pub in Lewis and Ditching looked like it was still in the 13th century and beautifully preserved.
I can now see why the Americans call us ‘Quaint’ so true!
New York is my home now, but I can definitely confirm...I fell back in love with England!

Prepping for England..

I am heading to England on Monday for the first time in damn near 7 years... excited, nervous, so many emotions!.. Can't believe its been so long I am going to feel like such a tourist, you know camera round the neck at all the museums and castles, minus the fanny pack- of course i will still be in 7inch heels, dress and Dior purse!

The last week has been so crazy, I am trying to fit everything in before I leave.

Met with my music video editor, done! Vocals for my album, done!, Designs for my new collection, done! Figured out what to take with, not done!... I have a closet/room bigger than some Manhattan apartments yet I still stand in the middle of a room confused, this big closet is looking like a pink paint bomb exploded....well time for me to get back to the madness.... kisses darling!

My brain is often fuzzy with so many creative ideas and ventures...Music, Fashion, Screen Plays and Books, Interior Design and Home Renovation.. the list is endless, if it includes a paintbrush and a note its inside my head.

I keep a journal but that's not enough, i need to share my ideas and thoughts so the endeavors i cannot fit in do not go waste....Enjoy!..
